Lost Your PAN Card? How to Download e-PAN or Order a Reprint (2026 Guide)
Losing your physical PAN card can be stressful, especially when you need it urgently for banking, KYC, or tax filing. Fortunately, you do not need to apply for a new PAN number (having two PANs is illegal and can attract heavy penalties).
Instead, you can easily retrieve your Instant e-PAN or order a duplicate physical PAN card online within minutes.

Difference Between e-PAN and Physical Reprint
- Instant e-PAN: A digitally signed PDF version of your PAN card. It is legally valid for all purposes and can be downloaded instantly.
- Physical Reprint: A new plastic PAN card delivered to your registered address. It is identical to your original lost card.
Note: Instant e-PAN is available mainly for Aadhaar-based PAN holders. Older PAN holders may need to use NSDL or UTIITSL portals.
How to Download e-PAN Instantly
You can download your e-PAN from the official government portals using Aadhaar or PAN details.
Method 1: Via Income Tax Portal (Free)
- Visit the Income Tax e-Filing portal .
- Under Quick Links, click on Instant e-PAN.
- Select Check Status / Download PAN.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click Continue.
- Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Download the e-PAN PDF instantly.
Method 2: Via NSDL (Protean) or UTIITSL
- Visit the NSDL (Protean) or UTIITSL website and choose Download e-PAN.
- Enter your PAN number and Date of Birth.
- Authenticate using OTP sent to your registered mobile or email.
- Pay a nominal fee (approximately ₹8.26) if your PAN was issued more than 30 days ago.
How to Order a Physical Duplicate PAN Card
- Visit the NSDL Reprint PAN or UTIITSL PAN Reprint page.
- Enter your PAN and Aadhaar details.
- Generate OTP using your registered mobile or email ID.
- Pay the ₹50 reprint fee for delivery within India.
